Please take a few minutes to view this video that was made by Dr. Nattawut Wanumkarng of Bangkok, Thailand.  Dr. Nattawut has been instrumental in the planning of the medical treatment for little Kayeng Yang, a two year old who has been maimed and blinded by a UXO.  Read related stories in Dori's blog.

Barbara and I were very fortunate (and we thank our good friend Fred Branfman for the introduction) to have met Ms. Alethea Paradis. She's an attorney, turned teacher, turned entrepreneur who started a tour company, called Friendship Tours World Travel. It offers experiential and community involvement tours to countries of former adversaries*. This is her first tour to Laos.

On February 14, 2012, Give Children A Choice's Barbara Shimoda signed an MOU with Xieng Khouang's Provincial Education Head Mr. Boualee to build a model preschool in Namyen Village.  Namyen Village is located deep in Mok District in south east Xieng Khouang Province and its residents are Hmong.
